The Wisconsin Badgers strength and conditioning coach has resigned his position over a racial slur he reportedly used while recounting a story from his N-B-A career.
U-W Athletics officials say they confirmed the comment made by coach Erik Helland.
He had been placed on administrative leave before his decision to resign after seven years on the job.
Published reports indicate the comment involved Kobe King, who left the team recently – but in his Tweet announcing his departure King thanked Helland for his efforts while King was playing for the Badgers.
