
The Manitowoc County Miracles Special Olympics hosted a basketball invitational tournament at Two Rivers High School on Saturday, January 25th. Here are some of the results:
The Manitowoc Dragons lost to the Green Bay Metro Dragons 24-17. The top scorer was Mitch Finnel with 6 points. Charlotte Mason scored 4 points and Jeff Morgan had 3 points. David Johnson and Tim Brooks each scored 2 points. The Dragons won their second game to the Green Bay Metro Wizards 24-12. Top scorers were Jeff Morgan and David Johnson with 8 points. Brett Lembke, Mitch Finnel, Autumn Bateman and Tim Brooks each scored 2 points.
The Manitowoc Swishers won both of their games. The first game was a very evenly matched play against the Sybil Hopp Sidekicks II, ending with a score of 20 – 18. A balanced scoring attack was shared by several players, with Mark Pribek leading with 6 points, followed by Mike Pribek, Maggie Remiker and Marsha Schwoerer with 4 points each and Jeff Bocock with 2.
The 2nd game they beat the Bay Navigators Blue II, 10-4. 2 points each came from Sara Benfield, Jeff Bocock, Becky Kummer, Mike Pribek and Maggie Remiker.
The Manitowoc Kings won their first game 25-23. Preston Bjarnarson scored 2 pts, Aiden Wollersheim scored 17 pts and Tim Cooley tallied 6 points.
The Manitowoc Knights won their first game against a team from Sheboygan by a score of 26-6.
Scoring points were Mike Reckelberg and Ben Centnarowski with 8 points each and Noah Reszczynski with 4 points and Mike Klein, Mike Mason and Jade Nate with 2 points each.
The second game was a battle of two Manitowoc teams. The MCM Knights vs the MCM Kings.
The Knights won by a final score 29-18.
Top scorers for the Knights were Noah Reszczynski with 12, Ben Centnarowski with 8, Mike Reckelberg with 5 and Sami Schmidt with 4.
For the MCM Kings, Aiden Woolersheim scored 12 points and Tim Cooley put in 6 points.
