Two Rivers City Manager Greg Buckley has informed us that the city is roughly 75% complete with switching their streetlights with LED lamps.
According to Buckley, “This investment by the Electric Utility has reduced annual energy consumption for street lighting by about 340,000 kwh (Kilo Watt Hours) annually. That savings will increase to 465,000 KWH annually when the project is complete.”
He went on to explain that that savings is equivalent to the average annual energy use of 42 homes, or a 58% reduction in energy use for street lighting.
When the project is complete, the City is expected to save roughly $27,000 a year.
