The Kansas City Chiefs had to come from behind for the third time in a row in order to defeat the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl last night.
With around 9 minutes to play in the 4th quarter, the Chiefs offence, which had been relatively quiet all game, opened up and scored 21 unanswered points to win Super Bowl 54 31-20.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, who was named Super Bowl MVP, went 26 for 42, accumulating 286 yards, 2 touchdown throws and 2 interceptions.
The 49ers running game, which was expected to be the difference maker, was held relatively in check, with three running backs accumulating 139 yards.
Compare that to the 284 yards those same three backs racked up against the Packers during the NFC Championship game.
