A 37-year-old Manitowoc man is free on a $150 recognizance bond after allegedly threatening a woman with a knife. Paul M. Batt is charged with Disorderly Conduct while armed. Police responded early Sunday afternoon for a call to an apartment complex in the 500 block of Reed Avenue where a female victim told them she was helping Batt move into his apartment.
She said he accused her of stealing his marijuana-which she denied. The female victim stated that Batt then grabbed what was described as a butcher knife, pointed it at her throat threatening to kill her. She eventually was able to leave the apartment with Batt located several hours later causing a disturbance at a separate residence.
Bail conditions include that Batt possesses no weapons, maintain absolute sobriety and have “no contact” with the victim. His initial appearance is scheduled for March 2nd at 2:30.
