Update-Based on some recent inquires- GBPD Animal Protection and the WI DNR want to check the welfare of the Fox as it may appear sick. By locating and containing the Fox, they are hoping to evaluate its health and making sure all residents are safe.
The Green Bay Police Animal Protection Unit has received several complaints of a fox roaming around the neighborhoods near S. Ridge St, Highview, Ernst, and Neufeld Street. They believe the fox is coming from wooded areas near parks. The fox appears to be roaming in highly populated areas and has been seen by residential houses, parks, sidewalks, and schools.
Authorities are encouraging the public to avoid approaching the fox and to call the police department if it is seen. The Animal Protection Unit, along with the Department of Natural Resources are tracking the whereabouts and are doing everything they can to safely capture the fox and remove it from the city.
Do not approach the fox.
