The City of Manitowoc is in the process of fundraising for the Eternal Flame Fund. The Eternal Flame is located on the grounds of the Manitowoc County Veterans Memorial across from Evergreen Cemetery honoring all who sacrificed to protect our country and defend our freedom.
The goal is $200,000 that will be turned over to the Lakeshore Community Foundation into an endowment fund that has been established with the accrued interest used to maintain the flame.
The City adds that based upon current expenses, $200,000 plus interest will be enough to never touch the principal thus making the flame fund “eternal”.
About 25% of the goal has been reached. With the largest contribution so far coming from the Ant Hill Mob Motorcycle Club at $12,000. Investors Community Bank has also made a contribution of $5,000.
