A proposal was recently introduced that some Wisconsin hunters may really enjoy.
The Wisconsin Natural Resources Board has proposed the idea of extending the gun deer season from 9 days to 19.
This idea was brought up not long after the numbers were released for last season, showing 20% less hunters went out, and brought back 25% fewer deer than last season.
The proposed season would likely take place during the deer mating season, or the “rut,” and could impact the archery and crossbow seasons as well.
Citizens will be able to vote on the proposal in April, along with questions related to eliminating deer management zones, and limiting the length of the crossbow season.
