A Manitowoc landscaper talked this week about just how unusual the weather was in the fourth quarter of 2019. Jerry Haupt, the owner of Lakeland Landscape, who’s been in business for over 45-years, called it an up-and-down winter so far but added the fall was most unusual.
“It’s hard to remember a fall that gave us everything like this past one. With moisture, a white Halloween, and really cold temperatures in October.”
Haupt, who was a guest on the WOMT morning talk show “Welcome Home” hosted by Brandon Bartow, added it was a “weird, weird fall…I don’t think we ever left as much work on the table as we did this fall. We just couldn’t get to it, between the snow and the cold and the rain. For landscaping and a lot of outside excavators and builders, I’m sure it affected their work in more ways than one.” Jerry also said, “it’s one of those things that is out of our control……you think you’ve experienced it all, but we learn something every year.”
