Tax time can be rather stressful for some, but Lakeland Collage and Lakeshore Technical College are offering a helping hand.
They are offering to help low to moderate income tax filers prepare their taxes for free.
Students from both school’s accounting programs will be on hand at LTC’s Cleveland campus every Tuesday starting February 4th, through March 31st, while Lakeland students will also offer help at the Sheboygan Salvation Army Thursdays and Saturdays through all of February until April 9th.
Through a similar effort last year, around 400 tax payers collected around $1 million thanks to the efforts of the students.
Those looking to take advantage will need to bring a photo ID, the Social Security Cards for everyone filing, your W-2 and 1099 forms, a rent certificate or 2019 property tax bill and a copy of their 2018 tax return.
The service is offered to those earning less than $56,000 annually.
