Bail was set at $100 cash for a 66-year-old Manitowoc man after getting into an altercation with MPD Officers at Saucy’s Bar. Larry G. Lutze is charged with felony battery to law enforcement, resisting, and disorderly conduct.
Officers initially responded to a call Tuesday night about a missing person (Lutze) from a southside residential facility. Lutze had court-ordered permission to leave during the day provided he return by 4 p.m. When he had yet to arrive several hours later staff called police who found him at Saucy’s.
The complaint adds that the defendant verbally resisted officer’s orders to leave and return to the facility, including making a “lunging motion” toward one officer leading the officer to draw and point a Taser at Lutze. According to a report, as police escorted Lutze from the bar, he kicked one of the officers.
Conditions of bail include that he maintain absolute sobriety and have no contact with any location with the primary purpose of selling alcohol. Lutze remains in the County Jail with his initial appearance scheduled for Monday afternoon at 1:30.
