An individual is dead in Winnebago County after a shooting incident involving members of the SWAT Team.
Members of the Winnebago County MEG drug unit were sent to a home in the 800 block of Grove Street in Fox Crossing at around 7:30 last night to speak with an individual who was wanted on felony warrants and for questioning about some other crimes.
When the unnamed person did not cooperate, the SWAT Team was called to assist.
Within minutes of their arrival, shots were fired, and the individual was dead.
The State Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation has taken over the investigation.
