The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says a 65-year-old snowmobile operator lost control where a trail crosses Highway 151 near Chilton.
Robert Hoerth of Chilton was ejected and suffered multiple injuries that left him dead.
The accident happened Sunday night.
Investigators say it appears Hoerth approached the trail crossing at a high rate of speed and went airborne over the pavement.
He was last in a group of four riders.
