Wisconsin state park officials say standing dead trees will be cut down at a park in Door County. Every ash tree and dozens of beech trees on the north end of Potawatomi State Park will be harvested. The emerald ash borer and beech bark disease have killed trees in the park. There are safety concerns about the dead trees since 250-thousand people visit the park each year. There are so many trees in the park, officials don’t think the removals will affect the landscape drastically.
