Authorities in Milwaukee County say two people accused of shoplifting at a sporting goods store caused a rollover accident on Interstate 43 Sunday afternoon.
Workers at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Grafton say the unnamed 37-year-old man and 36-year-old woman took about $1,100 worth of merchandise.
When a Bayside police officer spotted the suspect vehicle he says he tried to make a traffic stop, but the resulting chase reached speeds approaching 100 miles-an-hour.
After a crash, the two suspects were taken to Froedtert Hospital to be medically evaluated.
