An Appleton man has been convicted in a shooting case from 2017.
According to police reports, Henry Nellum had gotten into a fight with another individual at Jacks Apple Pub on May 20th 2017, and fired a shot.
When the Appleton Police Arrived at the scene, Nellum reportedly moved toward the officer with the gun in his hand, prompting the officer to open fire.
In the process, the officer struck both Nellum and a bystander named Jimmie Montell Sanders.
Sanders died from his injuries, while Nellum was hit in the bicep and treated for his injuries.
Nellum entered a no contest plea in Outagamie County Court yesterday on charges of 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Felony Murder, Possession of a Firearm – Convicted Felon, Operate Firearm While Intoxicated, and Carry Concealed Weapon.
