The Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit received information yesterday afternoon that a person was distributing controlled substances and there might be firearms on the premises in the Village of Whitelaw.
Sheriff Dan Hartwig tells Seehafer News that a SWAT team carried out a search warrant in the 100-block of West Menasha Street, shortly before 3 pm on Thursday, January 16. A 19-year old Whitelaw man was taken into custody and is being confined on a Probation Hold in the Manitowoc County Jail.
Hartwig said SWAT team members seized 500-grams of marijuana, two firearms, ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and other suspected controlled substances, pending test results. The sheriff indicated it’s an ongoing investigation and charges may be forthcoming.
Hartwig emphasized there’s no danger to the public in that Whitelaw neighborhood and he also thanked the Manitowoc Police Department and Wisconsin State Patrol for their assistance.
