The City of Racine is asking for state and federal assistance as it deals with massive erosion along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
Mayor Cory Mason issued a declaration of emergency Wednesday.
High winds of 50 miles-an-hour combined with 20-foot waves to cause millions of dollars in damages.
The worst damage has been reported at Pershing Park, Carre-Hogle Park, North Beach, Zoo Beach and the bluffs near the Racine Zoological Gardens.
The mayor calls the situation “unprecedented.”
