
Golden Eagles shooters were on the mark Wednesday in an 85-65 win over visiting Xavier.
That broke Marquette’s two-game losing streak and improved the team’s Big East Conference record to 2-3.
Markus Howard scored 19 of his game-high 35 points in the first half when his team was building a 44-32 edge.
Then, the Eagles went on a 17-7 run to start the second half and eventually led by as many as 23 points.
Marquette hit 50 percent in the first half and 48 percent for the game.
The Golden Eagles travel to Georgetown for a conference contest Saturday afternoon.
