Details surround the arrest of the former Indiana college president in Sturgeon Bay have been released.
According to the report, Thomas Minar was visiting Sturgeon Bay on January 6th, and began speaking with an individual who went by “Tyler” on a gay chat app.
“Tyler’s” profile said he was 19, but he almost immediately told Minar that he was 15, and a student at Sturgeon Bay High School.
The conversation between Minar and the undercover police officer known as “Tyler” continued, and became very sexual, before they planned to meet at a fast food restaurant in the city, which is when Minar was arrested.
Minar admitted talking to the boy was a “fantasy chat” but said he would not have had sexual contact him.
Minar has since been fired from his position at Franklin College, and is facing charges of Child Enticement, Using a Computer to Facilitate a Child Sex Crime, and Exposing a Child to Harmful Material.
