The Sheboygan County Rotary Clubs just missed out on reaching their goal of raising 100,000 pounds of non-perishable food from the Making Spirits Bright light display.
The Chairperson of the event, Gerry Plehn said that it wasn’t too surprising they fell short, due to the shortened holiday season, but they were still able to bring in nearly 98,800 pounds of food.
All of that food went directly to the Sheboygan County Foodbank, which typically distribute 100,000 pounds of food every month.
Plehn also thanked their sponsors, which included The Grover Family Foundation, Festival Foods, Meijer, and several private donors.
