
As of yesterday’s 5pm filing deadline at Manitowoc City Hall, there will be 3 contested races for alderman in the April 7th election.
In District-5 where Lee Kummer chose NOT to seek re-election, John Brunner and Amber Daugs are seeking the position.
In District-8, incumbent Mike Williams has opposition from challenger Bill Schlei. And in District 10, Alderperson Courtney Pelot is opposed by Michael Cusick for a 1 year term on the Manitowoc City Council.
In addition, Brett Vanderkin turned in his nomination papers to fill a vacancy in the 1st District, where according to Deputy City Clerk Mackenzie Reed-Kadow, the filing deadline is extended to next Wednesday, January 15th at 5pm.
Those Aldermen running unopposed in April include: Jim Brey in the 4th district, Eric Sitkiewitz in the 6th and Steven Czekala in district-9.
And, Steve Olson has no opposition as he runs for another 4-year term as Municipal Judge.
