Former Milwaukee Brewer first baseman Eric Thames has signed a one-year contract with a buyout to play for the Washington Nationals.
Thames hit .241 with 72 homers and 161 runs batted in during his three seasons in Milwaukee.
He set a club record by smashing 11 home runs in April 2017.
The Brewers decided to pay him a million dollars to buy out his seven-million dollar contract in the off-season.
The team had signed him out of the Korean Baseball Organization in November 2016.
