
Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels
2019 was a very good year for building activity in the city of Manitowoc.
In fact, Mayor Justin Nickels said in a news release that this past 12-month period was “one of the best years in our entire history for growth.”
The total construction value was just under $83 million, compared to over $69.4 million for 2018. Nickels says the city sent out thank you letters to businesses who invested substantially in 2019.
The mayor added thank yous also go out to all those who invested in their property last year.
He explained, “whether it was as large as Lakeside Foods’ major expansion on S. 30th Street, or a private homeowner who renovated their kitchen or added a deck, we saw investments helped our local economy in substantial ways.”
Manitowoc is celebrating its’ 150th anniversary and Nickels said 2020 is looking just as promising.
