A 61-year-old Wisconsin man will face hate crime charges when he goes on trial in Milwaukee County.
Clifton Blackwell is accused of throwing acid on a Latino man’s face during a racist attack last year.
Blackwell has been found competent to stand trial on reckless injury charges.
Witnesses say he threw the acid on Mahud Villalaz in November, accusing the victim of being in the country illegally.
Blackwell is scheduled to return to court for a hearing next week.
