A western Wisconsin woman is accused of embezzling 35-thousand dollars from her boss. The Eau Claire County district attorney charged Karen Towberman late last week. Investigators say the Stanley woman took the money by writing checks to herself over a three-year period. Police say she told them she did take the money, saying she needed it to make ends meet. If she is convicted, Towberman faces up to 20 years in prison.
