There’s word today that the wissports.net Coach of the Week for December 22nd through the 28th is Joe Garceau of Roncalli High School.
After graduating 4 starters from a Jets team that went 26-1 and advanced to the WIAA Division-4 State Basketball Tournament last season, not a whole lot was expected from the 2019-’20 version of the Jets.
But, Garceau and his staff have led the Jets to an 8-1 mark so far including two victories over large school programs Oshkosh North and Sheboygan North at the Golden Raiders Shootout.
The Coach of the week information on Wissports said “considering Roncalli has an enrollment of 247 students and competes in D-4, while Sheboygan North with more than 1,500 students and Oshkosh North at 1,200 plus compete in Division-1, the Jets accomplishment (recently at Acuity Fieldhouse) is all the more noteworthy.”
Roncalli will resume Eastern Wisconsin Conference action at Chilton on Thursday night.
