A lot was accomplished in Manitowoc County over the past 12 months. County Executive Bob Ziegelbauer was on the WCUB Radio Breakfast Club on Friday, and said that there is a lot going in Manitowoc County right now. “We’re optimistic looking toward the new year,” He said. “We’ve got prosperity in the community…unemployment is low, everything’s looking good.”
A couple of roadwork projects were completed last year, including the work done on County Trunk R and Waldo Boulevard, and Ziegelbauer says that trend will continue this year. He said that they plan to resurface around 14 miles of roadways, and building a new bridge on County Trunk S, which is near Whitelaw.
Another project on the books will be the addition of a new pavilion at the Maribel Caves Park. The County Executive said that project will cost around $400-500 thousand project, but they received grants from the DNR and the utilities company to make it happen.
