Manitowoc County U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) announced that David Hartlaub of Meeme was elected to represent his local administrative area (LAA) during the recent county committee election.
Tom Schneider, county executive director explained why County Committee members are so important, saying “They help deliver programs at the county level and work to serve the needs of local producers.”
Every FSA office is served to by a county committee made up of local farmers, ranchers and foresters who are elected by local producers.
Nearly 7,800 FSA county committee members serve FSA offices nationwide.
Each committee has three to 11 elected members who serve three-year terms of office.
