People must now be 21 years old in order to purchase tobacco products in the US. The change came at the federal level after a month of pushing from Congress and President Donald Trump. The FDA is reporting that President Trump “signed legislation to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, and raise the federal minimum age of sale of tobacco products from 18 to 21” on December 20th. This change includes cigarettes, cigars, and e-cigarettes. More information on the details of the change is expected to come in the near future.
