
The state Department of Criminal Investigation has identified the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Deputy involved in a fatal crash early Sunday morning in Two Rivers as Eric W. Roehl and the deceased as Forest K. Springstube. DCI says that Roehl was attempting To stop a vehicle driven by Springstube at a high rate of speed on Highway 310 when it left the roadway and crashed. Law enforcement immediately provided medical aid to Springstube but he died at the scene from “neck and head injuries”. Deputy Roehl was not injured and per protocol he’s been placed on administrative leave pending a complete investigation by DCI. Upon completion-the state agency will turn over their findings to the Manitowoc County District Attorney’s Office where it will be determined if charges will be filed.
