Some people may have gotten a new TV, or gaming system for Christmas, but the Manitowoc Police Department says that may make you a target for thieves.
You can reduce the chance of getting targeted by these criminals by not advertising what you got on the curb.
If you received anything in a big box, be sure to break it down, and make sure it will fit inside a garbage or recycling bin, You can also take it to a recycling center.
If you put the full box on the curb, thieves will see your home as a gold mine and may attempt to take your new toys.
On Facebook the Department said simply, be wise, don’t advertise.
