While presents were being opened, and cookies were being eaten, a 27-year-old Manitowoc man was sitting in jail.
Police were called to the parking lot of Walgreens at around 5:00 PM on Christmas Eve to speak with a woman who claimed her boyfriend was threatening her.
She told police that the two had gotten into an argument about his drinking habits and that he had threatened to kill her, but he went to sleep.
When she woke him up in order to go somewhere, she claimed he was still intoxicated, and continued to yell at her and said he would “beat her”.
Police spoke with the man, who admitted to getting into the argument but denied threatening her.
The man was detained on a charge of Disorderly Conduct, on a domestic violence order.
