Christmas in the Mansion is underway at the Vilas-Rahr mansion. Executive Director Greg Vadney of the Rahr-West Art Museum said the event highlights the unique architectural style of the Victorian era. Vadney said Christmas in the Mansion actually began in 1988. He has also noticed that a lot of people who grew up in Manitowoc and are returning to see their family, make it a priority to come see Christmas in the Mansion.
In fact, Vadney said, “one visitor said it doesn’t seem like you’re home until you visit the Mansion at Christmas time.” He called being held in that high regard by the visitors to the Mansion, a “blessing, and a gift.”
He explains that the mansion is beautifully decorated for the holiday season by a wonderful group of volunteers, each choosing their own theme. Vadney says Christmas in the Mansion runs through Sunday, January 5th. He also thanked Investors Community Bank for sponsoring and designing the Mansion for the past few years.
