No charges will be filed against three Madison police officers who shot a man to death last October.
Those officers were responded to a call about a weapons violation when 64-year-old Dean G. Thomas opened fire.
He was shot to death when he refused to drop his weapon.
Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne says, in that case, it was permitted for the three – Sergeant Ryan Gibson and Officers Sonny Martinez and Justin Nelsen – to respond with deadly force.
The incident happened on the city’s southwest side October 27th.
