A big talking point at the national level has been immigration.
President Donald Trump has limited the number of immigrants that can settle in the US to 18,000 per year, and Governor Tony Evers sent a letter to the White House saying that refugees can settle in Wisconsin.
In response, Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich sent a letter to the Governor, declaring his city to be a refugee resettlement area.
In the letter, Genrich states, “Green Bay is a city known throughout the world for our hospitality…this ethic of hospitality also goes much deeper and is rooted in the cultural and faith traditions of this area and in the foundational values of our nation.”
