Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu
The Highway 23 expansion project is costing a little more than was expected.
The DOT is expected to need an additional $15 million to complete the project, which on top of $6 million in increases announced earlier this year, bringing the total projected cost of the project to $171.5 million.
Senator Devin LeMahieu responded to this news by saying “Sheboygan County motorists have been waiting far too long for this 4-lane expansion. However, they should not have to submit a blank check to make this project a reality.”
LeMahieu, along with five other Senators from Sheboygan County have sent a letter to the DOT voicing their concerns.
