A Manitowoc woman is facing charges after she was caught using someone else’s checkbook.
The theft was reported at 3:25 Wednesday afternoon, and officers went to the victim’s home to investigate.
The male and female victims showed the officer a copy of the check, which appeared to be signed by the woman, but the signature had some inconsistencies with how she actually signs her name.
The suspect list was quickly narrowed down to a 32-year-old female who lives in the apartment in the upper level of the building, as she has access to the apartment, and has a history of theft.
The check was made out to a third party, who admitted to cashing it for the suspect, believing it to be a legitimate check.
The suspect was arrested at her home in the 1100 block of South 15th Street without incident yesterday at 3:30 p.m.
She is facing charges of Forgery and nine counts of Felony Bail Jumping.
