Senator Andre Jacque of DePere has been a busy man in Madison.
During a recent appearance on WCUB’s Breakfast Club, Jacque spoke about some of the bills he is supporting this session, including one that helps public safety personnel.
He said that the Workman’s Comp Advisory Council brought forth concerns regarding Post Traumatic Stress Disorder within that sector, so Jacque began working on it.
Jacque is also supporting a bill that should make city governments happy.
He explained that the bill will include “A lot of things that are going to help town government operate more efficiently, save some taxpayer dollars.”
His committee will actually be holding a meeting later this week on that topic.
The State Senator also continued his support of our state’s veterans by working on “a half dozen bills.”
He worked with County Veteran Service Officers and the Veterans Administration to work on things like “hunting opportunities for disabled veterans, licensing for military spouses, and reciprocity for licenses.”
Jacque also told SeehaferNews.com that he is working on a bill with Rep. Paul Tittl of Manitowoc which relates to the 72 hour hold for people suffering a psychiatric emergency.
He explained that law enforcement brought the issue up to them, as sometimes it takes a bit longer for cases like that to be seen due to the shortage of psychiatrists in the state, specifically in more rural areas.
