Manitowoc’s District 1 is going to need a new Alderman, as Mike Howe has decided to step down from his position.
His reasoning was stated in a letter to Common Council President Eric Sitkiewitz, which said that he wanted to avoid any conflict of interest between his role in local government and his role as the owner of both Mike Howe Builders and Strand Adventures.
In the letter he thanked his constituents for giving him the opportunity to serve his community for the past six years.
Howe was honored at the Council meeting last night, thanking everyone, and saying “There’s a very bright future for the City of Manitowoc.”
