Police were called to Van’s Bar in Manitowoc on Sunday after a man attempted to pay using two fake $100 bills.
The officers arrived at around midnight and spoke with the bartenders. Both said that the man had tried to pay for a couple of drinks with the first fake bill, so they called the police.
While they were on their way, he tried to use the second $100 bill to pay for some food. When they told the man they were fake, he reportedly “faked a surprised look on his face and claimed he didn’t know they were fake”.
The man was arrested and also found to be in possession of marijuana.
The 28-year-old man is facing charges of Uttering and Possession of THC as a multiple-time offender.
