The Clipper City Co-Op recently reached a huge milestone.
They are looking to relocate, and a big part of that is getting more people involved. Their ideas have been working and according to Dayna Kennedy, they recently surpassed 600 members. She explained that by reaching that number they are 80% of the way to their goal of 750 members. That number is deemed the “magic number” which will make them feel confident in moving to a larger location.
The Clipper City Co-Op is a community-owned grocery store that provides access to locally sourced food, strengthens the regional economy, and promotes health and well-being.
Kennedy says, a membership costs $200. She said it is a “one time purchase. That can be done all at once or stretched out over time.” If you wish to join, simply go down to the store, located inside the Coolest Coast building, located at 822 Franklin Street. They are open from 10 am – 1 pm Monday through Friday. Owners get different perks as well, including this month, the Co-Op is offering a $10 discount on gift cards valued at $115.
