
Conventions, sports tournaments, and meetings bring in thousands of dollars for the lakeshore area every year.
Jason Ring, Executive Director of the Manitowoc Area Visitor & Convention Bureau tells SeehaferNews.com “It can be a group of 20 people meeting for a board meeting. It can be people meeting for a convention with breakout sessions…It can also be a sports tournaments and in one case we have a car show coming that could attract over a thousand attendees.”
The Wisconsin Car Enthusiast Club visits the Manitowoc County Expo grounds in April with one thousand people expected to attend.
Ring also explains that they even have a national train hobbyist group coming to the area in September.
The local tourism expert said other groups visiting our area next year include, the Wisconsin State Genealogical Society, and the Knights of Columbus Bowling Tournament.
Other events Jason Ring mentioned included Youth Hockey tournaments, the Wisconsin Disc Golf Association, a couple softball tournaments, the return of the Maritime Bay Classic Bicycle Race in 2020 and the spillover effect of the Ryder Cup at nearby Whistling Straits and, the Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee.
