Bail is set at $2,500 cash for a 26-year-old Manitowoc man facing charges for allegedly spitting on a police officer. Zane Novak-Jansky is charged with Discharge of Bodily Fluids at a Public Safety Worker and six counts of Felony Bail Jumping.
Officers were called to the Sabora House on Marshall Street on the report of an individual sleeping in the hallway. After making contact with Novak-Jansky he refused to cooperate and reportedly took off his pants.
Once asked to put his clothes back on, he allegedly looked an officer in the eye-paused and spit directly into his face. After he was medically cleared, Novak-Jansky was taken to the County Jail.
Conditions of bail include Novak-Jansky report to Manitowoc Police Department for photos and prints upon release and report any address change to the court. He remains in the County Jail with an initial appearance scheduled for Monday at 1:30.
