The Milwaukee Brewers are considering a deal which would bring first baseman-outfielder Eric Thames back for 2020.
The Brewers bought out his option for a million dollars last month, but now they’re short of options to play first.
Veteran outfielder Ryan Braun could do it, but manager Craig Counsell has said the defensively-challenged slugger wouldn’t be the starter next season.
In a mostly-part time role last season, Thames hit .247 with 25 home runs and 61 runs batted in.
He is currently a free agent.
