The Manitowoc Police Department is joining law enforcement agencies across Wisconsin during the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” holiday campaign.
The holiday season is a festive time for many, but it can quickly turn tragic if drivers make the dangerous and irresponsible decision to get behind the wheel impaired.
According to the Manitowoc Police Department, there were about 160 OWI arrests last year. Of those, 130 were alcohol related, and 20 were drug related
There will be an increased number of officers on the roads, cracking down on drunk driving.
One way that you can help law enforcement is to report any impaired drivers you see immediately.
Be sure to provide as much detail as possible on the driver, vehicle, and location, and of course never get behind the wheel while you are under the influence.
