Subfest 2018
The City of Manitowoc and the Wisconsin Maritime Museum have announced the collaboration of two July events beginning in 2020.
The City of Manitowoc annually hosts its Fourth on the Shore celebration on July 4th, and the Wisconsin Maritime Museum has held their annual Subfest event in July as well. Beginning July 4th of 2020, all of the festivities will be held on the same day and will span along the lakefront from the Manitowoc Yacht Club to the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in the heart of downtown Manitowoc.
“This is such a fantastic community collaboration,” says Cathy Green, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Maritime Museum. “The submarine veterans that gather here every year for Subfest have incredible stories to share. As part of Fourth on the Shore, we can share those stories with even more people.”
Subfest will still have all the popular elements of the past five festivals: Reduced admission, special veteran-led sub tours, live entertainment, food and beverages, a fun roof deck party, as well as the Tolling of the Boats ceremony. “I couldn’t think of a more perfect way to spend the 4th than celebrating the submarine-building heritage of Manitowoc,” says Green.
