An early morning fire at a duplex in Ashwaubenon has displaced 6 people.
Ashwaubenon Public Safety Officers were summoned to a residence at 2240 Early Street just before 1:00 AM today.
Those arriving on the scene observed heavy smoke pouring out of the basement area and fire fighters were able to enter the structure and extinguish the blaze.
Both units sustained fire and smoke damage and a male resident received minor injuries while trying to put out the flames.
The person, who was not identified, was transported to a Green Bay hospital for medical treatment.
The American Red Cross is providing assistance to the displaced residents and the Brown County Fire Investigation Unit is looking into the cause of that overnight fire.
Those agencies helping at the scene this morning included De Pere, Green Bay Metro and Town of Lawrence Fire Departments along with Wisconsin Public Service.
