This weekend, the Manitowoc Elks Lodge #687 will be hosting their annual “Elks National Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest”.
The contest is open for boys and girls aged 8 through 13 years old, with the winning contestants advancing through district, state, regional, and national competitions. The Elks help sponsor contestants and their families at every level of the competition.
One boy and one girl from each division will be crowned that national champion at the National Finals and will have their names inscribed at The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame located in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Registration is free and will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Manitowoc/Two Rivers YMCA, with the shooting beginning at noon.
All contestants must bring a birth certificate along with them for age verification.
