An Oostburg man will be in court today for his arraignment hearing, as he faces charges for allegedly threatening to bring a gun to a school.
22 year old Aaron Mauer was arrested after he sent out a message on the popular photo sharing app Snapchat, which saw him dressed in a mask, and holding a gun with the caption “coming to a school near you”.
An arraignment is a court proceeding at which a criminal defendant is formally advised of the charges against him and is asked to enter a plea to the charges. In many states, the court may also decide at arraignment whether the defendant will be released pending trial.
Mauer is facing up to 45 months in Prison.
